Notable case work

Utility-Corridor Review

Eastern Pennsylvania and Northwestern New Jersey chapters completed a joint comparison of thirteen reports near service roads and stormwater access points. Four files were merged as duplicate witness sequences; two were referred for municipal infrastructure review.

The work also produced a limited data exchange with RCABF regarding duplicate-report handling.

Archive program

Cassette Digitization

Eleven field cassettes recorded between 1992 and 1998 were transferred to preservation-grade digital files. Original tapes remain the archival record. One transfer, EV-0348-A, was prioritized because of binder deterioration.

See Physical Evidence for custody status.

Membership

Chapter Changes

Paid membership ended the year at 127, up from 119. The Delaware Valley Chapter moved to provisional field status following a methods review; the Central Pennsylvania Chapter remained inactive, with records held by the National Archive.

No new chapter charters were issued.

Training

Field Qualification

Thirty-one members completed the evidence-handling module; nineteen completed supervised night-observation requirements. Two field qualifications were allowed to lapse for failure to complete annual safety review.

2026 priorities adopted at year end

Complete pre-1995 intake indexing; publish chapter standing in a single public directory; establish comparison-soil handling for repeat sites; continue cassette preservation; revise the public archive interface; and maintain separation between witness wording, Council classification, and etymological interpretation.

See Regional Chapters, Membership, and Active Investigation for current-year status.
